For Some Context…

How it started…

My love for journalism and all things media began with a father-daughter trip to the East Coast in the summer of 2016. Originally, our itinerary revolved around visiting landmarks from our favorite game series, Fallout, but my dad noticed something deeper. At 17, I found myself fascinated not just by television journalism but also by the rapidly shifting political landscape in our nation’s capital.

One visit to the Newseum (RIP) in D.C. changed everything. Walking through exhibits filled with historic front pages, Pulitzer Prize-winning photographs, and interactive newsrooms, I realized the profound impact of storytelling. Journalism wasn’t just about reporting facts—it was about shaping history, holding power accountable, and connecting people across the world.

How it was going…

After earning my undergraduate degree in broadcast journalism and documentary film from Chapman University and moving across the country multiple times to advance my career, I ultimately decided it was time to return home to Los Angeles. Shortly after arriving, I landed a job with iHeartMedia as a broadcast producer for KFI-AM 640. It was the most fun I’ve ever had in a job, but after just nine months, I became one of many journalists impacted by layoffs.

But it’s not the end of the world! While working at iHeart, I was accepted into USC’s Public Relations and Advertising graduate program—and that’s where you’ll find me now!

Where it’s headed…

I now dedicate most of my time to pursuing my graduate degree in Public Relations and Advertising at the University of Southern California. While journalism will always be my first love, 25-year-old me feels an even deeper calling toward government strategic communications.

And maybe a little gaming PR, too.
